Miami Beach expands mobile payment options for parking

Share

Miami Beach, Florida – The City of Miami Beach has introduced an additional payment option for parking, enhancing convenience for both residents and visitors. The city now accepts PayByPhone, joining ParkMobile, which was previously available, to simplify parking payments in the area.

Seamless Parking Experiences

Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez highlighted the ease that this new service brings to parking around the city. “The addition of PayByPhone as an accepted form of payment is making parking in Miami Beach a no-hassle experience at our 66 surface lots and dozens of on-street parking meters,” Fernandez stated. He also noted that this convenience will soon extend to city-operated garages. “In the near future, motorists will also be able to use PayByPhone in the 12 city-operated garages as customers are already able to do so via the ParkMobile app.”

PayByPhone and ParkMobile are among the most popular mobile parking apps in South Florida, with widespread usage that extends beyond Miami Beach to include all Miami-Dade County parks, and cities like Miami, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, and the Town of Surfside.

Unified and User-Friendly

To ensure a smooth transition and continuity for users familiar with ParkMobile, both apps will share the same location numbers within Miami Beach. This approach aims to provide a seamless extension of the city’s parking payment options. The integration of PayByPhone began with a soft launch on April 1, which included testing and the installation of new signage to indicate the availability of PayByPhone alongside existing services.

Enhanced App Features

Available for both iOS and Android users, PayByPhone offers several convenient features that enhance the parking experience. Motorists can use the app without registering, although registered users have access to additional functionalities. These include text message reminders before parking sessions expire, the ability to remotely extend parking sessions within allowed time limits, and emailed receipts for each transaction.
