Tamarac Recreation Center to host Stroke Awareness Health Fair & Family Fun Day

Tamarac, Florida – In an effort to enhance community health and commemorate National Stroke Awareness Month, Vice Mayor Morey Wright is joining forces with the Smiley’s Voice Foundation to host the 10th annual Stroke Awareness Health Fair & Family Fun Day. This community event is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Tamarac Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A Decade of Raising Stroke Awareness

The event, free to the public, focuses on educating attendees about the critical aspects of stroke prevention and treatment. Over the years, the health fair has become a key platform for spreading vital information on how to manage and prevent strokes, particularly targeting high-risk populations. With a variety of activities planned, the event promises to be both educational and enjoyable for families.

Participants will have access to complimentary screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol—key factors in stroke and cardiovascular disease prevention. Additionally, the fair will provide educational materials on diabetes management and nutrition, helping attendees make informed health choices. The day will also feature free giveaways, food, and refreshments, making it a perfect outing for health-conscious individuals and families.
