Fort Lauderdale police investigate Wednesday night accident that left one dead, another injured

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is currently investigating a fatal car crash that took place on Wednesday night, leaving one person dead and another injured.

The crash occurred shortly after 11:45 p.m. in the 4700 block of Bayview Drive. According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle lost control and collided with a concrete power pole.

The impact of the crash was significant, causing not only physical damage to the pole but also leading to a power outage in the area.

In the aftermath of the crash, the driver was found to have sustained only minor injuries. However, the situation was much more dire for the passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Florida Power & Light was promptly notified about the damage caused to the power infrastructure. The company took immediate steps to address the power loss affecting local residents.
