Fort Lauderdale, Florida – As the nation prepares to honor its fallen heroes on Memorial Day, Broward County has announced closures and operational changes for its governmental offices and services on Monday, May 27th.

Countywide Closures and Services Adjustments

Broward County’s governmental offices will close for the Memorial Day holiday, but many online services remain accessible through the county’s website at Broward.org, providing residents with continuous access to crucial services.

Essential Contact Information and Services

The 311 Call Center will not be operating; however, the Homeless Helpline will offer after-hours support from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Residents needing assistance during these times can call 954-563-4357 to access services.

Library and Recreational Facilities

All branches of the Broward County Library will be closed on the holiday. Despite this, digital resources such as book and media streaming, catalog searches, and material renewals will be available around the clock through the library’s online services.

While most Broward County parks will be open to the public, specific locations such as Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Deerfield Island Park, Markham Target Range, and Secret Woods Nature Center will be closed. A holiday gate fee of $3 per vehicle will apply in operational regional parks, and the usual holiday rates for shelters and buildings will be in effect.

Transportation and Transit Services

Broward County Transit will operate on a Sunday holiday schedule. Customer Service Representatives will be available from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM to assist with trip planning for Fixed and Paratransit Routes. Similarly, administrative offices at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and North Perry Airport will be closed, but the airports will operate normally. Animal Care and Medical Services

Broward County Animal Care will be closed, with emergency services available for animal attacks or bites, injured animals, and situations requesting police assistance through 911. Non-emergency calls can be made starting Tuesday at 8:00 AM to 954-359-1313.

The Broward Addiction Recovery Center will require appointments for all services, including detoxification. Waste Collection and Landfill Information

Garbage, bulk, and recycling collection for the Broward Municipal Services District will continue as scheduled. Residents in other cities should verify schedules with their respective city or hauler. The Broward County Landfill will be closed for the holiday.
