Wilton Manors, Florida – The Highway Construction and Engineering Division has announced the beginning of a significant intersection improvement project at North Andrews Avenue and Northeast 26th Street in Wilton Manors.

Scheduled to start on Monday, April 15, the project aims for completion by December 2024, contingent on the weather and any unexpected delays.

Funded through the state gas tax, the enhancement efforts will focus on several key updates to improve the functionality and safety of the intersection. Notable planned improvements include the transformation of the current traffic signal system to a mast arm supported system.

Additionally, the project will introduce a new crosswalk at the northern leg of the intersection, complete with new curb ramps and pedestrian signals. Further enhancements include milling and re-surfacing the asphalt pavement and upgrading pedestrian ramps, signage, and pavement markings to meet current standards.
