Promoting Vision Zero

All cyclists, regardless of skill level, are encouraged to attend and learn about recent and upcoming safety improvements across Miami-Dade County. These efforts are part of the county’s Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries by 2040.

Miami-Dade Parks is actively enhancing the off-road cycling network with projects like The Underline, the Ludlam Trail, and the Biscayne-Everglades Greenway. These projects are designed to ensure safe passage for cyclists traveling to parks, schools, beaches, business centers, and public transportation hubs.

Community Support and Participation

The Ride of Silence is supported by the Everglades Bicycle Club, reflecting the community’s commitment to cyclist safety and solidarity. This event not only honors those lost but also raises awareness about the importance of safety improvements and the ongoing efforts to protect cyclists on the road.
