Miami, Florida – On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, while Miami-Dade County offices take a day off to observe Juneteenth, the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) has announced that all transit services, including Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover, and Special Transportation Services (STS), along with the newly introduced MetroConnect, will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
Transit Operations and Customer Service Adjustments
Although DTPW’s administrative, Customer Service, and Special Transportation (STS) offices will be closed for the holiday, provisions have been made to accommodate the needs of transit users. STS customers, in particular, can still make or cancel reservations by calling the STS reservation number at 305-871-1111, ensuring that transportation remains uninterrupted for those who rely on these services.
For regular transit riders, several convenient options are available for managing their travel needs digitally. Passengers can purchase or reload an EASY Card through multiple channels: the Transit Store, the Go-Miami Dade App, or the Token Transit App. Additionally, contactless payment methods are available, providing a quick and easy way to pay fares.

Furthermore, new applicants wishing to obtain a Golden Passport EASY Card, which offers additional transit benefits, can do so by visiting DTPW’s Golden Passport online page. In the event of lost items during transit, customers are encouraged to use the Lost and Found portal to report and recover their belongings.
Stay Connected and Informed
DTPW encourages all transit users to sign up for transit alerts at miamidade.gov/alerts to receive real-time updates and notifications about transit services. For those who like to stay ahead of transit news, special events, and exclusive perks, joining Mobility 305, DTPW’s monthly newsletter, is highly recommended.
By keeping all transit services operational on Juneteenth, DTPW supports the community’s mobility needs, ensuring that residents and visitors can continue to travel efficiently across the county even on public holidays.
