Miami Beach, Florida – The City of Miami Beach has been recognized by the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) as one of the NAFA 100 Best Fleets in the Americas for the third consecutive year. This prestigious honor was announced on April 23 at NAFA’s 2024 Institute & Expo in San Antonio.
A Testament to Excellence in Fleet Management
“Our Facilities and Fleet Management Department is responsible for nearly 1,400 vehicles and other equipment,” stated Miami Beach Interim City Manager Rickelle Williams. “I am proud of the dedicated team of professionals who worked hard every day to earn this well-deserved honor.”

Commitment to Sustainable Fleet Operations
Miami Beach is on track to meet its goal of converting half of its municipal fleet to a mix of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles by 2025. The city’s dedication to sustainability is in line with a prior resolution adopted by the Miami Beach City Commission, which declared climate change to be “caused by human activity” and pledged to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The NAFA 100 Best Fleets Program
The NAFA 100 Best Fleets program recognizes top-performing fleet operations among the 38,000 public fleets in North America. Judging is based on “12 criteria of excellence,” including accountability, collaboration, and precision. NAFA members control over 4.8 million vehicles, collectively driven 84 billion miles per year, and manage more than $122 billion in assets.
The continuous recognition of Miami Beach in the NAFA 100 Best Fleets list underscores the city’s outstanding commitment to environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
