Boca Raton, Florida – The City of Boca Raton encourages citizens to participate in a vital public input session set for Thursday, October 24, 2024, in a proactive endeavor toward improving road safety. Aiming at eliminating all traffic-related deaths and severe injuries inside the city while enhancing accessibility and safety for all kinds of mobility, this project is a part of the larger Vision Zero project.

Held in the Boca Raton Community Center Annex Building, 260 Crawford Blvd., the event will run from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Attendees will have the chance to interact personally with the City’s Transportation and Mobility officials as well as representatives from Kimley-Horn, a consulting firm working on this project.

Through data-driven and comprehensive study of local traffic events, the Vision Zero projects aims to identify problem areas and create practical solutions. The upcoming workshop provides a forum for community members to learn Vision Zero’s objectives and hear about the results of the study. More importantly, neighbors can express concerns, exchange stories, and offer personal comments that might affect next safety precautions.

“We are excited to make Vision Zero a reality in Boca Raton,” commented City of Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Yvette Drucker as reported by the Boca Raton Tribune. “This community has a common goal of making our streets the safest in the nation while reducing congestion at the same time, and it’s exciting to be leading the way on this.”

Participants in the meeting will have an opportunity to analyze the trends found in the preliminary crash data analysis and help with a public survey designed specifically to get comments on traffic safety issues. The information gathered during this session and the survey responses will be very important in determining the action plan meant to produce safer streets across Boca Raton.
