Tamarac invites residents to celebrate the season with free family-friendly events

Tamarac, Florida – With a festive schedule of activities that promises excitement for the entire family, the City of Tamarac is getting ready to embrace the warmth of spring. Starting this March, the community is encouraged to participate in a series of events combining outdoor fun with seasonal celebrations.
Tamarac will host the three-part “Groove on the Grass—Concert in the Park” series first in the spring festivities. The first event is scheduled for Friday, March 7, at Caporella Park, located at 5200 Prospect Road, from 7 to 9 p.m. The band Hotter Than July will pay tribute to Stevie Wonder during this outdoor concert. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets so they may enjoy the musical performances alongside many food vendors and inflatable rides. Though the event is free, guests are recommended to use the overflow lot at 2400 NW 53rd Street since venue parking is limited.
The Tamarac Sports Complex at 9901 NW 77th Street will convert into an outdoor movie theater for the “Movie in the Park” series after the musical evening. The community may get together Friday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m., to see the Hollywood hit “Despicable Me 4” on a huge inflatable screen. Pre-movie lawn games and local food trucks will also be part of the evening to guarantee a fun experience for moviegoers of all ages.
April brings the much awaited Wet & Wild Egg Splash at the Caporella Aquatic Center, 9300 NW 58th St. Set for Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m., this unique event encourages youngsters aged 2 to 10 to explore a poolside egg hunt under age-appropriate groupings. Each participant must pay a nominal $5 fee; pre-registration can be done online to guarantee a place on this splashing adventure.

The egg-themed fun continues with Peter Cottontail’s Springfest on Saturday, April 12, at the Tamarac Sports Complex. Children may participate in an exciting outdoor egg search, enjoy spring-themed arts and crafts, bounce houses, and even meet Peter Cottontail personally beginning at 10 a.m. With free admission to guarantee no one misses out, these energetic gathering promises to fill the day with laughter and joy.
Wrapping up the spring event series, the City’s Food Truck Fridays offers a perfect evening of gastronomic delights. Popular food trucks from South Florida will be hosted at the Tamarac Community Center at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd. Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m. This monthly event offers an excellent opportunity for members of the community to relax at the end of the week while enjoying diverse culinary offerings.
