Trump says Americans are happy with the current administration: “It was legendary”

Florida – This week, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) found approximately $400 million in false unemployment claims, most of which were linked to three Democrat-led states: California, New York, and Massachusetts. The announcement increased a hectic week for the White House already dealing with a stock market decline and rising tariff-related uncertainties under President Donald Trump.
Trump, undeterred by the increasing challenges, followed his usual schedule and flew to Florida for the weekend, as he has done many times in the last few months. While he was in Florida, he attended a UFC event in Miami where the audience greeted him with great applause and chanting as he entered the venue. Speaking later, Trump commended the nice welcome as evidence that the actions of his administration are striking a chord with the American people.
Addressing the media early Sunday on Air Force One, Trump described the crowd’s loud cheers as “somewhat legendary,” interpreting it as a clear indicator of public approval for his leadership.

“Somewhat legendary,” Trump said as Fox News reported. “It was legendary. It’s a great honor to have that kind of ovation, really because it says we’re doing a good job. If we weren’t doing a good job, we’d get the opposite.”
The event took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, where Trump was joined by prominent figures such as UFC CEO Dana White and several key members of his cabinet. Among them were Elon Musk, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) advisor; FBI Director Kash Patel; Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard; and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Among the political and administrative powerhouses, the president’s granddaughter Kai Trump also came to the event to celebrate her second UFC experience. Talking to Fox News Digital, Kai expressed her delight with the crowd’s response, which she called “really cool” and “awesome,” thereby capturing the excitement of the live sports event.

Trump seized the chance to interact personally with the fighters he called “modern-day warriors.” He praised their performance and tenacity, stressing the particular physical and mental challenges of the sport.
By highlighting his personal readiness to interact with the media and the public at any hour, the president also took the opportunity to underscore a sharp difference between himself and his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.
“I’m always available unlike Biden. Think Biden would do an interview at two in the morning? He wouldn’t do one at nine in the morning,” Trump said, emphasizing his accessibility.
Trump’s presence at UFC 314 and the subsequent interactions not only emphasized his passion for sports but also underlined his approach of interacting with the people at popular events. Trump sought to strengthen his image as a dynamic and involved leader, able to elicit legendary responses from the people everywhere he travels, by identifying himself with people known for their toughness and resilience.
