$5,000 reward offered as detectives renew search for killer in Pompano Beach cold case

Pompano Beach, Florida – A $5,000 reward is now on the table as investigators renew their search for answers in the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man in Pompano Beach.

Years after Travis Holloway was shot, authorities say they still have not identified a suspect.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who knows what happened, even someone with a small piece of information, to come forward as homicide detectives continue working the case.

The shooting happened on May 21, 2022, in the 2800 block of Northwest Fourth Street. Deputies were sent to the area at about 8:30 p.m. after receiving a report of gunfire.

When they arrived, deputies found Holloway suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities said deputies immediately provided first aid before Holloway was transported to a local hospital.

He was later pronounced dead.

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit, along with investigators from the Crime Scene Unit, have been working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting. Authorities said no suspect has been identified at this time.

The investigation remains active, and officials are again turning to the public in hopes that someone may have information capable of moving the case forward.

Investigators are asking anyone with knowledge about Holloway’s killing to contact BSO Detective Kevin Nitsch directly at 954-321-4876. Information can also be submitted through the SaferWatch app.

For people who do not want to provide their names, Broward Crime Stoppers offers an anonymous option for submitting tips. Information that leads to an arrest may qualify the tipster for a reward of up to $5,000.

The renewed appeal comes as investigators continue trying to establish what happened before Holloway was shot and who was responsible.

With no publicly identified suspect, authorities are relying in part on information from people who may have witnessed the shooting, heard something about the case or learned relevant details afterward. Even information that may initially appear minor could help detectives develop a clearer picture of the events surrounding Holloway’s death.
