Broward College launches free virtual program to help Tamarac residents turn ideas into businesses
Tamarac, Florida – A new virtual program from Broward College promises to provide people the help they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses. The Broward College Entrepreneurship Experience Ideation Virtual Program gives those who want to start their own businesses an organized, seven-week opportunity to think about and improve their company ideas in a supportive, educational context.
The free online program takes place on Thursday evenings from February 5 to March 19, 2026. Sessions are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Classes are held entirely on Zoom, so anyone from all over the area can take part without having to attend in person. You have to sign up by February 4, 2026.
The curriculum was created and taught by Broward College professors and is all about the early phases of starting a business. People learn about the basic ideas that help them put their ideas into company strategies that they can use. Some of the topics are how to think like an entrepreneur, how to find real-world problems with potential answers, how to write good elevator pitches, and how to interview clients to make sure your ideas are good.
You have to commit to more than just weekly meetings for the program. Participants should plan on spending at least two hours a week doing homework outside of class. You have to attend all of the sessions, and you have to participate in the first two to stay officially registered. There will be no class on March 5, so you will have time to think about what you learned and be ready for the last sessions.
