Broward County offers landlords a new way to find tenants and support residents facing housing instability
Broward County, Florida – An empty rental property can mean lost income for a landlord. For someone struggling to find stable housing, that same vacant unit could mean an opportunity to start over.
Broward County wants to bring those two needs together, connecting property owners with residents who urgently need somewhere to live. A special event in November will show landlords how they can participate while recognizing those already making a difference.
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is presenting the 2026 Project HomeAgain Landlord Recruitment and Appreciation Breakfast on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The two-hour gathering will run from 10 a.m. to noon at 3501 Southwest 130th Avenue in Davie, Florida.
The event is designed to introduce more local property owners to Project HomeAgain, a housing initiative that helps Broward County residents facing immediate housing needs find available rental units.
Rather than leaving apartments or houses unoccupied, landlords can work through the program to welcome tenants who need a stable place to live. Participation comes without a required fee, and move-in expenses are covered for tenants who meet eligibility requirements.
Those financial arrangements are among the program’s main selling points for property owners considering whether to participate.

Project HomeAgain serves people from different backgrounds and circumstances, including military veterans, young families, and other residents working to rebuild their lives.
For these individuals and households, securing a rental home can represent an important step toward greater stability. For participating landlords, the initiative offers another way to connect with prospective tenants while contributing to a broader community effort.
The November breakfast will serve two purposes.
First, it will provide an opportunity for landlords unfamiliar with Project HomeAgain to learn how the initiative works and how they can make vacant properties available to eligible residents.
Second, Broward County will celebrate property owners who have already participated in the program and helped residents obtain housing.

Organizers are also encouraging existing participants and other attendees to invite fellow landlords from across Broward County.
To support that recruitment effort, a special award will be presented to the attendee who brings the greatest number of landlords who are new to Project HomeAgain.
The recognition adds a competitive element to an event centered on expanding housing opportunities and acknowledging community participation.
The breakfast will take place in person, giving interested landlords a chance to learn about the initiative during the scheduled gathering.
Property owners who want additional information about the event, including its location and registration details, can visit the official Eventbrite listing for the 2026 Project HomeAgain Landlord Recruitment and Appreciation Breakfast.
With the November 5 gathering approaching, Broward County is inviting landlords to consider how an available rental unit might become both a new tenancy and a fresh start for someone in need.
