Tamarac brings back drive-through turkey giveaway with first-come, first-served distribution on November 14

Tamarac, Florida – A Thanksgiving turkey can be the centerpiece of a holiday meal, but for some families, getting one on the table can mean another expense during an already busy season. In Tamarac, a community giveaway is returning to help residents prepare for the holiday without adding to their grocery bills.

And the best part? Residents won’t even need to leave their vehicles to take part.

Tamarac Commissioner Krystal Patterson is bringing back the Gobble Turkey Giveaway Drive-Through for its second consecutive year, offering free turkeys to city residents ahead of Thanksgiving. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Tamarac Sports Complex.

The sports complex is located at 9901 NW 77th St., Tamarac, FL 33321, and will serve as the distribution location for the community event.

Organizers have made participation straightforward. The giveaway is open to all Tamarac residents, and turkeys will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

That detail matters for anyone planning to attend. With no guaranteed turkey for every participant, residents interested in receiving one may want to arrive early. The announcement does not specify how many turkeys will be available or how long distribution will continue.

The drive-through format offers a convenient way for residents to participate. Rather than attending a traditional indoor distribution event, participants can use the designated drive-through arrangement at the sports complex.

This year’s giveaway also marks a small milestone for the initiative. Now entering its second year, the event continues a holiday effort organized under Commissioner Patterson’s name, with a focus on making Thanksgiving preparations a little easier for Tamarac households.

The timing places the giveaway 12 days before Thanksgiving, which falls on Thursday, November 26, this year. That gives participating residents time to plan their holiday meals well before the celebration.

Although the event is open to residents throughout Tamarac, the announcement does not list any additional eligibility requirements, registration procedures or required documents.

Residents seeking more information about the initiative can visit Commissioner Patterson’s website at www.krystalpatterson.com.

For those interested in participating, the essential details are simple: Saturday, November 14, at 9 a.m., at the Tamarac Sports Complex on NW 77th Street.

With distribution operating on a first-come, first-served basis, arriving early could make the difference between taking home a turkey and missing out on this year’s holiday giveaway.
