Broward County to host Pompano Beach event on Feb. 21 offering direct support for people experiencing homelessness

Pompano Beach, Florida – Broward County officials and community partners are getting ready to hold a public event to help homeless people in the area get direct help and important resources.
The county’s Housing Options, Solutions, and Supports Division is putting on the event, which will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026. It will bring together service providers, volunteers, and those who need help in one easy-to-reach place.
The symposium will be held at the First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is meant to help those who need help get it by removing barriers that often keep them from getting it.

Attendees will get free clothes, hygiene products, and a lunch. They will also be able to talk directly with groups that help people find housing, meet their basic needs, and get additional resources to help them stabilize.
Organizers said the goal is not just to help people right now, but also to make real progress toward long-term housing and safety.

Participants will also be asked to talk about the problems they are having right now, which will help service providers better grasp the community’s most pressing needs.
The goal of the gathering is to improve coordination among the groups working to minimize homelessness in Broward County by encouraging open communication and teamwork. It will also make sure that people know what free services are available to them.
The symposium will take place in District 4, which is represented by Commissioner Lamar Fisher. There will be free round-trip transportation from many places in Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill. Scheduled morning pickups are meant to help people who might not be able to travel get to the event.
County leaders and partner groups want the event to be a place where people who are homeless can get help, information, and make connections.
