Chamber workshop unveils up to $100K in funding for business improvements in Tamarac

Tamarac, Florida – Local business owners in Tamarac and North Lauderdale should mark their calendars for a special online event that could change the course of their businesses. The Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce will hold a “Lunch & Learn” event on Tuesday, June 17, from 12 to 1 p.m. The goal of the workshop is to help small businesses find new ways to grow through city-supported economic development programs.
Kenneth Lopez, the Economic Development Manager, will lead the online session, which is being sponsored in partnership with the City of Tamarac. Lopez will talk about two big grant programs that will start in June 2025. These programs are made to help local company owners get money to improve and grow their businesses.
The Small Business Micro Grant is one of the main programs. It gives up to $10,000 to companies in Tamarac and up to $5,000 to enterprises outside of the city. Small businesses that are striving to get back on their feet or grow can use the money to pay for eligible costs that happened in the last 120 days. This gives them immediate relief and flexibility.
The Tenant Improvement/Interior Buildout Grant is the second big incentive. Its goal is to assist businesses change the way their buildings look. firms that meet the requirements might get up to $100,000 to help with interior buildouts and up to 25% of their rent. These resources could be very helpful for companies who are moving to new sites or repairing their current ones.

The Chamber wants both new and old businesses to get involved. Along with the grants, companies will have access to educational materials including boot camps, business planning templates, and one-on-one help with outreach.
