Tamarac, Florida – The City of Tamarac is gearing up to host its annual Juneteenth Celebration, a vibrant outdoor festival set to take place on Saturday, June 15, at 7 p.m. This event will be held at the Tamarac Sports Complex located at 9901 NW 77th St.
Engaging Performances and Activities
This year’s celebration promises an array of exciting performances and activities suitable for all ages. The evening will kick off with a welcome dance by Ashanti Cultural Performing Arts. Adding to the cultural showcase, “Nana Kete” from Kings Point’s African Cultural and Social Club is set to deliver an engaging performance.
The festival atmosphere will be further enhanced by the culinary delights available from various food vendors. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy an assortment of tasty treats while listening to the melodic spoken word performance by poet Rebecca “Butterfly” Vaughns.

For families attending with children, the festival offers plenty of fun-filled activities. Young guests will be thrilled by a stilt-walker performance from Junkanoo Band and other attractions including inflatables and a gaming truck. The night will conclude with a musical journey back in time as the Old Skool Gang, a Motown-inspired four-person group, performs old-school tunes, ensuring that the festival ends on a high note.

Admission to the Juneteenth Celebration is free, and the public is encouraged to come out and enjoy the festivities. Guests are invited to bring along a blanket or lawn chair to comfortably partake in the outdoor event.
In recognition of Juneteenth, which is officially observed on Wednesday, June 19, the City of Tamarac offices will be closed to mark the occasion. This allows the community to reflect on the significance of this day in American history.
