Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Residents living near Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) should anticipate changes in aircraft activity as the airport’s main east-west runway, Runway 9-27, is set to undergo surveying work. The scheduled maintenance will prompt the runway’s closure from 10 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, to 6 a.m. the following morning.
During this eight-hour period, Runway 13-31 will remain operational to handle all departures and arrivals, potentially altering the usual flight paths over neighborhoods to the southeast and northwest of the airport. These communities may experience increased air traffic and associated noise levels temporarily.
FXE officials have expressed appreciation for the community’s patience and understanding while these necessary improvements are carried out. They stress that the surveying is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and efficiency of airport operations.

Additionally, an online form is available for those who prefer to submit their complaints digitally, ensuring all issues are promptly addressed by airport authorities.
