Fort Lauderdale airport’s updated ride-share zones aim to streamline arrivals process

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Travelers that depend on ride-sharing services at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) are seeing changes in pick-up sites as airport officials provide modifications meant to simplify ground transportation. Since February 12, 2025, assigned pick-up locations for Terminals 3 and 4 are moved to a more structured area inside the Palm Garage, a change meant to improve passenger convenience and help to ease traffic.
About the pick-up zones
For those arriving at FLL and requesting a ride through app-based transportation services, designated pick-up zones remain clearly marked on the lower level (Arrivals). While the newly dedicated space in the Palm Garage will serve guests from Terminals 3 and 4, visitors departing from Terminals 1 and 2 will find ride-share pick-ups positioned between the two terminals.
Exiting Terminal 1 passengers should turn right upon leaving the terminal and follow established wayfinding signs with a recognizable cell phone icon, therefore guiding them directly to the approved ride-share location. On the other hand, Terminal 2 travelers will have to follow the same signage and turn left upon leaving to get to the pick-up location midway between the terminals.
Those arriving at Terminals 3 and 4 will be directed to a new centralized pick-up point located within the Palm Garage. While Terminal 4 passengers will follow a similar approach with signage guiding them across the pedestrian crosswalk to the first floor of the Palm Garage, Terminal 3 passengers should turn right upon exiting, cross the pedestrian walkway, and proceed to the first floor.

Drop-offs remain unchanged
Ride-sharing companies’ drop-off sites and pick-up points will stay the same despite adjustments to other sites. Departures passengers using these services will still be dropped off on the higher level (Departures), right away outside their individual terminals, guaranteeing a smooth transfer from curbside to check-in.
A smoother ride for everyone
This update shows a more general attempt to increase airport efficiency by lowering congestion close to arrival terminals and thereby generating a more structured flow for ground transportation services. Airport officials want to reduce traffic congestion and give passengers a better ride-sharing experience by moving high-traffic pick-up spots away from the terminal entrances.
