Broward County waives park gate fees on February 16 for anniversary celebration weekend

Broward County, Florida – For those who enjoy parks and the natural surroundings, Broward County Parks will mark its 69th anniversary by providing free gate admission fees on Sunday, February 16th. The Broward County Board of County Commissioners recently announced that guests of all regional parks can enjoy their beauty and amenities free from the regular $3 car admission fee, usually covering up to 8 persons.
This special waiver is part of the county’s celebration of nearly seven decades of providing recreational spaces to the community. Though admission is free, this does not apply to other costs such those for camping, boat or shelter rentals, or fees for special events. Parking will still be charged at Hollywood North Beach Park and the A1A pocket parks in Hollywood.
Broward County’s Parks and Recreation Division encourages residents and visitors to explore the parks “YOUR WAY,” highlighting the personal connection that locals have with these green havens. The large county park system has something for everyone, whether your interests are bird watching, jogging, or just relaxing about under trees.
Including more than 50 regional parks, environment centers, and natural areas, the county’s parks together cover over 6,500 acres. These spaces are crucial for conservation efforts and offer a range of educational programs aimed at raising awareness about local wildlife and natural resources. The Broward County Parks website lists the several facilities and events available at each park, which are open at different hours.

The county’s first concern is still accessibility; particular accommodations for those with disabilities who need help to engage in any program, service, or activity. Accommodation requests should be sent at least five business days ahead.
Those who intend to benefit from this free entrance day have an excellent opportunity to re-connect with nature and enjoy the various surroundings Broward County Parks have to offer. Visitors may call the Parks Division at 954-357-8100 for further information on park locations and the particular components of the anniversary celebration.
So, load your picnic baskets, get your family and friends together, and head outdoors to honor the 69th birthday of Broward County Parks. Remember, this is the ideal Sunday trip for everyone since it offers an opportunity to discover the natural beauty of your neighborhood parks completely free of charge.
