Miami-Dade County, Florida – Miami-Dade County Animal Services is inviting the community to the “Find the Love of Your Life” adoption event. Scheduled for Saturday, February 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., this special gathering will take place at the Medley facility, located at 7401 NW 74 Street, Medley, FL 33166. This event is designed to connect individuals and families with canine companions looking for forever homes, creating lifelong bonds between pets and their new owners.

During this event, attendees will have the chance to meet numerous dogs in need of a loving home. To encourage adoptions and make the process as smooth as possible, adoption fees for dogs four months of age and older will be waived. However, adopters will be required to cover a $30 tag fee. Additionally, the first adopters will receive goody bags containing essential items like a leash and collar, available while supplies last.

Annette Jose, the Director of Animal Services, emphasizes the significance of this event, not only as an opportunity to adopt a pet but as a chance to welcome a new source of joy and love into one’s life. “This is more than an adoption event; it’s a chance to discover the perfect companion that will bring joy and love into your life,” she stated.

Expanding Adoption Opportunities

In response to the overpopulation challenge, the Medley facility, typically used for dogs requiring quarantine or medical attention, will temporarily house dogs available for adoption. The initiative aims to alleviate the shelter’s capacity issues and ensure that each pet finds a caring home.

Furthermore, special event pricing will extend to adoptions conducted at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center in Doral, Satellite Adoption Centers, and mobile adoption events across Miami-Dade County. These satellite centers, located in South Miami, West Kendall, South Dade, Homestead, Doral, Flagler, and Dadeland, offer additional opportunities for community members to meet potential furry family members, including cats.

For those interested in participating in the “Find the Love of Your Life” adoption event or exploring other adoption opportunities within Miami-Dade County, detailed information is available on the Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department’s website.
