Miami-Dade County marks Pride Month with a flag-raising ceremony


Miami, Florida – Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, along with members of the Board of County Commissioners and community stakeholders, will participate in the ceremonial raising of the Pride flag at the Government Center. This event, scheduled for June 4, 2024, at 8:45 a.m., marks the commencement of Pride Month and is part of an ongoing commitment by the county to support and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.

This year’s event will take place at the Stephen P. Clark Center, located at 111 NW 1st St, Miami, FL 33132. It is the fourth consecutive year that Miami-Dade County has honored this tradition, emphasizing the region’s dedication to fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the Miami-Dade County government raises the Pride flag in support of the LGBTQIA+ community to reaffirm our commitment to making Miami-Dade an inclusive, welcoming county that celebrates our rich diversity.

The flag-raising ceremony will feature key figures such as Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, and Commissioner Eileen Higgins, who will join the Mayor in this symbolic gesture of unity and support for the LGBTQIA+ residents of the county.
