Doral, Florida – Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) is set to welcome 29 new recruits into the ranks of its Cadet Program. The induction ceremony for Cadet Class 2301 will be held today, April 20, 2024, at 10 a.m., at the MDFR Training Facility located at 9300 NW 41 Street in Doral.

A New Generation of Firefighters

The recruits, upon completing their training, will embark on careers in fire service or medical-related fields, marking their start with an induction ceremony that celebrates their dedication and readiness to serve. This program not only equips them with essential skills but also involves them in community events and further training, fostering a deep sense of service and professionalism.

Fire Chief Ray Jadallah expressed his enthusiasm for the incoming class. “It fills me with immense pride to witness the dedication of these young men and women,” Jadallah remarked. “The cadet program instills values of dedication, service, and valor that they will carry throughout their lives. It’s a privilege to witness such a momentous occasion that marks the beginning of an incredible journey.”

Honoring Leadership and Commitment

Having led the cadets since his junior year, Gettinger has accumulated 429 service hours.
