Public meeting on June 11 will give Tamarac residents a voice in roadway corridor planning
Tamarac, Florida – Tamarac residents will have a chance next month to weigh in on a roadway improvement proposal that could help guide the future of one of the city’s key corridors.
The City of Tamarac is inviting the public to attend the NW 57th Street Roadway Improvement Corridor Project Public Meeting on Thursday, June 11, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.
The meeting will focus on possible improvements along NW 57th Street, stretching from Pine Island Road to University Drive.
City officials said the meeting is being held to share information, answer questions and gather community feedback as Tamarac explores a proposed REV grant application. That application, if pursued, would support the city’s long-standing vision for the area and help move planning efforts forward.
“Join us for the NW 57th Street Roadway Improvement Corridor Project Public Meeting! Share your feedback, ask questions and help shape the future vision of our community. Your voice matters as Tamarac explores improvements from Pine Island to University Drive,” the city said in its announcement.

During the public session, city staff will present the proposed project scope and outline the objectives tied to the corridor improvement plan. Residents will also have an opportunity to speak directly with staff, ask questions and provide feedback on the proposal before the grant application process moves further.
Public input is a required and important part of the grant application process, according to the city. Officials are encouraging residents, property owners, business operators and others with an interest in the area to attend and share their thoughts.
The meeting is also meant to make clear where the project currently stands. The city emphasized that the grant is not guaranteed. If funding is eventually awarded, money would not be available until FY2036. For that reason, the June 11 meeting is being held strictly for planning and discussion purposes and does not mean the project is already funded or underway.
Still, city leaders say community participation now can help shape the future direction of the corridor. Residents who attend will be able to better understand the proposal, learn what improvements are being considered and add their voices to the conversation before any future decisions are made.
