Tamarac, Florida – South Florida residents are gearing up for the 44th Annual Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K Run, a popular local tradition that brings together community members for a morning of health, fun, and camaraderie on Thanksgiving Day. Starting from Tamarac City Hall at 7525 NW 88th Avenue, the event is set to take place on November 28 at 7:30 a.m.
Since 1980, the Tamarac Turkey Trot has been a main event providing an opportunity for neighbors, friends, and families to begin their holiday with a run or walk. Emphasizing community engagement above competitiveness, the event welcomes runners, walkers, and wheelchair users across all age categories.
Given the past great turnout for the event, participants are urged to register early here. The first 2,000 registered members will get a unique 2024 commemorative T-shirt designed for the run. Furthermore, every runner who finishes with a bib will receive a medal, therefore adding a physical reminder to the events of the day. In both the general and several age divisions, awards will also be given to the top three male and female finishers for outstanding achievement.
Online registration is now officially available; it will stay open until noon on November 27, the day before Thanksgiving, or until all of the spots are filled. Those who want to participate should use the tiered registration price schedule: $25 until October 13, $30 from October 14 through November 17, and $35 from November 18 until registration closes. Prospective attendees should be aware that on morning of the race there will be no same-day registration.
Individuals can visit the official website at Tamarac.org/SpecialEvents to register and for more information about the event.
