Rehearsals in full swing as Fort Lauderdale gets ready for jet-powered beach weekend

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Set to take off on the weekend of May 3 and May 4, the City of Fort Lauderdale is preparing for its hallmark event—the 2025 Fort Lauderdale Air Show. Running along Fort Lauderdale Beach, the much-awaited aerial display will include some of the best military and commercial pilots in the nation.
On both Saturday and Sunday, the main program is set to run from 11:45 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thousands of observers are anticipated to line the seashore to see the clear roar of high-performance planes blazing across the sky, tight formations, and bold aerobatic feats.
Residents near the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport should anticipate an obvious rise in aircraft traffic as part of event preparations. Practice flights run everyday until the end of the event on Sunday, May 4. Taking place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., these flight rehearsals may cause more noise than normal, especially in airport and seashore proximity.
City officials underlined that every effort is being made to avoid inconveniences while keeping the best safety standards for both participants and the public. To control flying paths and timing, the Executive Airport is working directly with event safety staff and air show performers.

Residents of Fort Lauderdale are reminded to remain informed and notify any issues with plane noise. Those who prefer digital communication can use the online form in addition to the 24-hour Aircraft Noise Reporting Line at (954) 828-6666. The Executive Airport can be contacted at (954) 828-4955 for specific requests or additional information.
