StoryBook Festival returns to Pembroke Pines with Wizard of Oz magic and family fun

Broward County, Florida – The Broward County Library is once again encouraging families to enjoy the magic of stories at the 24th Annual StoryBook Festival on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The free event will be held at the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines, which is at 16835 Sheridan Street.
The theme for this year’s event is “Follow the Yellow Brick Road: In Celebration of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” which is based on a classic story. The event is for kids 10 and younger and brings books to life with a magical blend of live shows, crafts, and interactive storytelling that show how important reading and imagination are.
There will be a lot of things to do at the festival all day long. Through the Big Book Giveaway, the first 1,000 kids to show up will get free books. Kids can have their faces painted, see puppet shows by Steven’s Puppets, and see magical acts by Jimmy C Magic. There will be stilt walkers, storytellers, and performances by students from the City of Pembroke Pines Art & Cultural Center to make the event even more fun.

The “Swappin’ Ground” is a special part of the event where kids can tell their own stories and listen to professional storytellers. The Pembroke Pines Recreation & Cultural Arts Department will also hold hands-on arts and crafts classes. Families can visit the Fantasy Forest, where they can meet classic fairytale characters, or they can join the popular Costume Parade, when youngsters are encouraged to dress up and walk along the festival path.

There will also be community partners there, such as local firefighters who will let kids look around an actual fire engine. You don’t have to pay for anything, including activities, entertainment, parking, and entrance. Everyone is welcome to come in, although registration is required. You may only buy tickets for the Fantasy Forest tours on the day of the event. The morning tours start at 10 a.m., and the afternoon sessions start at 12:30 p.m.
