Tamarac Commissioner Krystal Patterson partners with AAA Urgent Care to offer student health exams on August 16

Tamarac, Florida – On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., families in Tamarac will have a unique opportunity to get ready for the new school year at the “Breaking Barriers: Back to School Clinic.” The event will take place at the Tamarac Recreation Center, located at 7501 North University Drive, and is being hosted by Commissioner Krystal Patterson in collaboration with AAA Urgent Care.
The free community health clinic is meant to help students get off to a healthy start this school year. It offers treatments that are only available to people who live in District 3. Families that qualify will be able to get free physicals and health exams for their students, which is an important step for many before going back to school.
The clinic will not only provide health services, but it will also connect visitors with local resources and initiatives for young people, giving families a wider range of community support. There will also be light snacks provided, which will make the event a friendly and pleasant place for kids and parents.
To be able to go to the clinic, you have to meet certain requirements. Families must live in District 3, and only one child from each family can sign up for the event. You need to sign up ahead of time to get a position because the clinic can only take 60 students. Any remaining spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the clinic. Residents who aren’t sure if they live in District 3 can check by going to bit.ly/TamaracMap.

Organizers stress that even though it is free, students must sign up ahead of time to make sure they get the care and attention they need. The clinic’s main goal is to remove obstacles that keep kids from starting school ready to achieve. The focus on both physical health and access to local programs shows this.
With the school year coming up quickly, this program gives parents piece of mind and gives students a healthier, more confident start. Commissioner Patterson and AAA Urgent Care are working with local healthcare providers and community groups to make sure that families in District 3 have all they need from the start.
