Tamarac health fair brings stroke prevention, screenings and family fun to Recreation Center
Tamarac, Florida – A day built around health, family and community connection is coming to Tamarac as District 2 Commissioner Morey Wright joins Smiley’s Voice Foundation, Inc. for the FREE Stroke Awareness & Prevention Health Fair and Family Fun Day.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tamarac Recreation Center, located at 7501 N. University Dr.
It is designed as an open invitation for residents to learn, connect and take simple steps toward better health in a welcoming setting.

At the heart of the gathering is stroke awareness and prevention, a topic that can affect families across every neighborhood and generation.
By bringing the conversation into a community space, organizers are making health information easier to reach and less intimidating. The goal is not only to encourage people to think about their well-being, but also to give them a reason to come together and act early.
The free event will feature health screenings, giving attendees a chance to check in on important parts of their health while learning more about prevention.
For many people, screenings can be a useful first step toward understanding possible risks and making informed decisions about their next steps.
But the day is not only about health services. It is also planned as a family-friendly event with giveaways, food, live music and more. That mix gives the fair a broader purpose: residents can enjoy the afternoon, spend time with loved ones and still leave with helpful information that may support a healthier future.

The partnership between Commissioner Wright and Smiley’s Voice Foundation, Inc. places the focus on both education and togetherness.
Events like this can help turn awareness into action, especially when they are free and held in familiar community locations.
Residents are encouraged to come out, have fun and take a step toward better health together. The Stroke Awareness & Prevention Health Fair and Family Fun Day offers Tamarac families a chance to enjoy a meaningful Saturday while also paying attention to something that matters deeply: protecting health before a crisis begins.
