Tamarac residents can learn how HOA rules should be enforced during upcoming community workshop

Tamarac, Florida – Rules can help keep a neighborhood organized, but enforcing them fairly and consistently is not always simple. For homeowners associations, decisions about when and how to act can raise questions that deserve careful attention.

The City of Tamarac is inviting residents, association board members and property professionals to take a closer look at those challenges during an upcoming meeting focused on covenant enforceability.

The city’s Quarterly HOA Liaison Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W. Commercial Boulevard. Admission is free, and participants will have an opportunity to earn one continuing education unit (CEU).

This quarterly session will focus on the importance of enforcing community covenants in a timely and uniform manner. Organizers will also address the difficulties that can develop when enforcement is inconsistent or action is delayed.

Covenant enforcement is an important part of managing communities governed by homeowners associations. However, the way those requirements are applied can present challenges for the people responsible for overseeing them.

The October meeting is designed to help participants better understand those issues while exploring best practices that can support more consistent enforcement.

The city is encouraging community association managers, commonly known as CAMs, HOA board members and other property professionals to attend. The discussion is particularly relevant to individuals who are responsible for understanding and applying community rules.

In addition to the educational discussion, attendees can receive one CEU for participating in the session.

Organizers have also clarified that although the continuing education component is intended for HOA boards, some condominium-related material will be included. This gives participants an opportunity to learn about topics extending beyond homeowners associations.

Light refreshments will be served during the event.

The meeting is part of Tamarac’s quarterly HOA liaison activities, bringing attention to issues that affect community association management and the responsibilities involved in enforcing established covenants.

Residents and professionals interested in attending are asked to register in advance. Registration is free and available through KBRLegal.com/event-calendar, where participants should select the October 28 event.

With the meeting approaching, the city is encouraging interested individuals to take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about covenant enforcement, discuss common challenges and gain continuing education credit without paying an admission fee.
