Broward County, Florida – Broward County’s Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division has announced an important initiative to enhance the drainage system within the Washington Park neighborhood, part of the Broward Municipal Services District. This project aims to mitigate the risks of flooding during the impending rainy season, with efforts scheduled to start on June 17 and conclude by February 2025.
Project Details and Traffic Impacts
The project is set to commence on the interior streets of the designated area, ensuring minimal disruption to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Initial work will focus on less invasive procedures to avoid significant impacts on daily routines of the residents and commuters. However, significant phases of the work will occur on NW 31st Avenue and NW 27th Avenue, where one lane will be closed during off-peak hours, specifically from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Despite these closures, at least one adjacent lane will remain open throughout the project duration to facilitate traffic flow.
