Broward Sheriff’s Office brings Driveway Initiative to Legacy at Tamarac for neighborly outreach

Broward County, Florida – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Meet & Greet event on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, where residents of Tamarac can meet the people behind the badge. Neighbors can come to Legacy at Tamarac, located at 6180 Rock Island Road, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for a pleasant and informative evening focused on community and safety.
This free event is a great way for people in the area to meet their local patrol deputies and command staff in a friendly setting. It’s all part of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Driveway Initiative, which is a community engagement program that aims to improve relationships between police and the neighborhoods they serve.
People who come will be able to ask questions, express concerns, and learn about the numerous parts of the BSO, such as patrol officers and specialist teams. One of the main topics of conversation will be crime prevention. Deputies will share useful advice and tools that individuals may utilize to make themselves and their communities safer.
If you want to learn more about what certain units do, have concerns about safety in your neighborhood, or just want to meet the deputies that patrol your area, this event is a great chance to do so. There will be no lectures or pressure; simply open discourse and a common aim of making Tamarac a safer, more connected community.
Residents can get additional information about the event by calling Deputy Jennifer Marion at (954) 720-2225 or the Legacy leasing office at (954) 405-1790.
