Broward Sheriff’s Office to host workshop for non-profits seeking Law Enforcement Trust Fund funds

Share

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) has announced its upcoming 2024-2025 fiscal year Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) Workshop. Scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the workshop promises to be a valuable resource for local non-profit organizations. The event will be hosted at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, located at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale.

Sheriff Gregory Tony, along with the dedicated men and women of BSO, extends a warm invitation to all local non-profits to participate in this session. The workshop is designed to aid charitable organizations in navigating the application process for LETF funds. These funds originate from the seizure and forfeiture of contraband used in the commission of felonies, allowing BSO to reinvest in the community positively.

The session is crucial for non-profits interested in applying for LETF money as attendance is mandatory to submit a grant application. During the workshop, participants will gain insight into the eligibility criteria, understand the qualifying rules, and receive assistance in preparing their applications. BSO staff will also be available to answer any queries from the attendees.

To participate in this workshop, non-profit groups must RSVP by emailing [email protected] no later than noon on Monday, April 22. The RSVP should include the legal name of the organization and its non-profit status. It is important to note that the deadline for submitting LETF applications is 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
