City of Tamarac offers free workshop this coming weekend to help residents navigate first home purchase

Tamarac, Florida – For a lot of people, purchasing their first house may be very stressful, especially with prices going up and a lot of competition in the housing market. The City of Tamarac wants to make that process easier by holding a First-Time Homebuyer Workshop to help new buyers understand each step of owning a home.

The event will be held at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W. Commercial Boulevard, on Saturday, January 31, from noon to 3 p.m. Commissioner Krystal Patterson will lead the workshop, which is open to anyone in the community who is thinking about buying their first home. They can ask questions and acquire useful resources to help them get started.

The course will start with a detailed presentation on the whole path to homeownership. Participants will learn about the current housing market in their area, the steps involved in buying a home, and the down payment aid and finance programs that are available.

The workshop will also talk about the problems that first-time purchasers often run into and provide them realistic ways to get past those problems.
