Community generosity powers Tamarac’s mission to prepare every student for day one

Tamarac, Florida – As the time for kids to go back to school gets closer, Tamarac Fire Rescue is working with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department to make sure youngsters have a good start to the year. They’ve started a school supply drive to gather important educational items for students in grades K–8. The campaign lasts until July 31 and wants everyone in the community to get involved.
People can leave donations at any of the three approved places in the city: Fire Station 15 at 6000 Hiatus Road, the Tamarac Community Center at 8601 West Commercial Boulevard, or City Hall at 7525 NW 88th Avenue. These collecting stations are open throughout regular business hours, so donors have multiple opportunities to give.
The list of items needed is long and includes things that students of all ages need in real life. People have asked for backpacks (without wheels), pencils, crayons, notebooks, composition books, folders with pockets or prongs, and pencil boxes. There is also a lot of demand for things like glue sticks, dry erase markers, erasers, highlighters, and loose-leaf paper that are always in the classroom.
The drive also includes health and hygiene products like Lysol wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer, and bandages. Along with study aids like calculators, pocket dictionaries, and graph paper, the list also includes organizational tools like binders, dividers, lanyards, and index cards.
The purpose of the initiative is to make sure that all of Tamarac’s students are ready to learn and do well from the first day of school. The community assists families and instructors by supplying these basic resources. Many of them have to pay for items out of their own pockets, which makes things easier for them.

Tamarac Fire Rescue and the Parks and Recreation Department are asking people who live nearby, companies, and community groups to help. No matter how big or small, your donation helps Tamarac’s students succeed in the future. Donors can directly affect the education of a child in their community by doing something nice.
The drive ends on Thursday, July 31. The city asks that everyone stop by one of the drop-off locations and help out until then. It’s a tiny thing that will help make the next generation stronger and more ready.
