Pompano Beach opens modern sheriff’s hub to serve neighborhoods long seeking more police presence

Pompano Beach, Florida – A new chapter in Pompano Beach’s commitment to public safety is set to begin on Tuesday, July 15, as city leaders and residents gather for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Broward Sheriff’s Office Substation. The ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. at 441 NW 27th Avenue, which is where the new 2,750-square-foot building will be.
The substation is a sign that the city wants to make neighborhoods that have long asked for greater attention and resources safer by having additional law enforcement personnel on the streets. The project cost $2.1 million and started in April 2024. It quickly went from idea to completion, giving the public safety services a new center.
The new substation is more than just a facility; it’s a smart investment in the safety of the community because it is located in an area of Pompano Beach that has had ongoing problems with crime. City officials say they choose the area to make response times faster, patrol coordination better, and provide people a visible reminder of the city’s continuous efforts to lower crime and develop confidence between police and neighbors.
The building has new technology and infrastructure that helps deputies do their jobs better every day. This gives them the tools and space they need to better serve the community. Local leaders also hope that the new substation will help officers get to know the neighborhoods they patrol better.
There is more to this than simply bricks and mortar. It’s important to send a clear message that everyone in the city should feel safe, and that officials are backing that commitment with genuine action.
Residents, community leaders, and representatives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office are all anticipated to attend the event. The celebration will not only focus on the building itself, but also on the progress being made toward making Pompano Beach safer and more connected.

The celebration is not only for finishing a project, but also for starting a new partnership between the community and the people who are sworn to safeguard it.
