Residents invited to serve on advisory and pension boards in Tamarac, recruitment open until Feb. 2

Tamarac, Florida – Residents and business owners in the City of Tamarac can now apply to serve on one of the city’s boards or committees for the year. The recruitment period is already open and will stay available until February 2, 2026. This gives everyone in the community time to think about how they might help make decisions in their area.

City officials are looking for people to apply for numerous advisory and oversight boards that help shape Tamarac’s policies, services, and initiatives. There are openings on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Senior Advisory Committee, the Veterans Affairs Committee, the Firefighters Pension Board, and the Police Pension Board. Some vacancies are designated as at-large positions, while others represent specific commission districts, allowing for broad community representation.

People who live in Tamarac or own or work for a business in the city are eligible to apply. Each board and committee has a specific job and area of responsibility. For example, some boards and committees give advice on recreational programs and services for seniors, while others handle pension issues for public safety workers.

Applications and detailed descriptions of each board and committee are available through the city’s official website. Interested individuals are encouraged to review the responsibilities and requirements before submitting their materials.

The City Clerk’s Office handles the application process and also says that Florida’s public records laws apply to the City of Tamarac. As a result, application materials and related communications may be considered public records under state statute.
