Tamarac residents encouraged to attend discussion on senior fraud awareness, event set for March 7

Tamarac, Florida – Tamarac residents are being asked to join a community conversation about how to keep older people safe from scams. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Tamarac District Criminal Investigations Unit is putting on a free Senior Safety Summit to talk about the increasing concern about scams that target seniors and to give people useful tips on how to avoid them.

The Tamarac Community Center, at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., will host the event on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Organizers claim that the event will give people clear information in a friendly setting, allowing them an opportunity to learn more about how scams work and what signals to look for.

These things are aimed to give people clear tools they can use to defend themselves and their property.
