Tamarac residents invited to engage with legal expert at city’s quarterly HOA gathering

Tamarac, Florida – Later this month, Tamarac residents and board members will have a chance to get together for an important community conversation. The City of Tamarac is holding its Quarterly HOA Liaison Meeting on Wednesday, August 27, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.
This free event is meant to give homeowners’ organizations, condominium boards, cooperative associations, and residents immediate access to legal advice on important issues in their communities. Attorney Andrew B. Black will be the main speaker. He will talk about issues that HOA leaders and people often have to deal with, such as budgeting and financial planning, building safety issues, and current changes in the law.
The main event during the gathering will be an interactive “Ask the Attorneys” session. This format is different from a regular lecture since people can affect the conversation by sending in their questions ahead of time when they sign up. The goal is to make sure that the most important issues for Tamarac members and HOA officials are addressed directly, whether they are about day-to-day operations or bigger legal changes that effect how the association is run.
City officials emphasized the importance of participation, especially as Florida continues to adopt new rules related to housing and building safety. It has become more important than ever for HOAs and condo boards to stay up with changes in state legislation and best financial practices. Having a knowledgeable lawyer on hand to clear up any confusion and answer concerns may make a big impact for both community leaders and the people they serve.

Organizers want people to sign up early, which may be done online here. When people sign up, they will be able to send in questions ahead of time. During the session, some submissions will be answered live, allowing attendees the chance to get precise, personalized help.
The Quarterly HOA Liaison Meeting is one way the city is working to improve communication between residents, HOA boards, and local authorities. Tamarac wants to help make communities stronger, safer, and more involved by giving people a place to talk and work together to solve problems.
