Drivers warned of traffic delays near North Beach during Sunday’s holiday event

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The City of Fort Lauderdale is advising drivers to potential traffic changes linked to the annual Pre Labor Day Festival. The event is slated for Sunday, August 31, at the North Beach Restaurants and Shoppes along NE 32nd Street, running from A1A toward the Intracoastal.

City officials have indicated that traffic changes would be in place throughout the day to accommodate the festival’s activities and pedestrian flow. Beginning at 5 a.m. on Sunday, NE 32nd Street will close between A1A and NE 33rd Avenue. The closure will stay in force until 11 p.m., once the event has finished up and cleanup is complete.

Motorists traveling in the North Beach region can anticipate delays and high congestion around the festival site. Drivers are strongly recommended to prepare ahead, consider alternate routes when available, and allow for extra travel time if passing through the area.

The Pre Labor Day Festival is a neighborhood event that gathers residents and visitors alike for entertainment, cuisine, and shopping. With big crowds expected, the city emphasized that the temporary street closure is important to maintain safety for pedestrians and event participants.

Those requiring further specifics regarding the festival schedule or traffic modifications should check the city’s official website at parks.fortlauderdale.gov/laborday.
