Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The City of Fort Lauderdale’s Development Services Department announces a significant change for contractors and licensed professionals: starting February 5, 2024, updates and renewals will transition exclusively to an online platform.
Digital Transition for Efficiency
In an effort to modernize and streamline processes, the department will stop accepting contractor updates and renewals through email or physical mail. All such transactions must now be conducted via LauderBuild using the Contractor Registration Renewal application. This change is aimed at enhancing efficiency and convenience for users.
Contractors are reminded of the importance of keeping their licenses and insurance documents current to maintain an active status with the city. Those with expired credentials will not be issued permits or be able to pay fees. When submitting documents on LauderBuild, contractors should ensure each document is saved as a separate PDF and only submit updates for those that have expired.
