Emma Lou Olson Civic Center to sparkle with joy and celebration at inclusive Prom Night event

Pompano Beach, Florida – The Emma Lou Olson Civic Center is set to transform into a night of wonder and celebration as Pompano Beach welcomes Prom Night 2025: Magic Awaits! on Saturday, July 26th. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the venue at 1801 NE 6th Street will host a one-of-a-kind evening filled with dancing, joy, and enchanting surprises—all created especially for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, ages 18 and up.

This annual event, organized by the City of Pompano Beach, offers more than just music and lights—it’s a carefully crafted experience where inclusion takes center stage. For just $5, attendees will receive dinner, entertainment, and a night they won’t forget. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress and prepare to be dazzled, not only by the magical theme, but by the kindness, energy, and excitement that fills the room.

The theme Magic Awaits! hints at a night of delightful illusions and glowing décor, but it also speaks to the deeper spirit of the event—where every guest is celebrated, every dance is cherished, and every smile matters. Whether it’s your first prom or a returning favorite, this evening promises to be a highlight of the summer.

Those interested in attending can purchase tickets in advance by visiting the event’s page on Eventbrite. For guests who require special accommodations, requests should be submitted at least five business days before the event by contacting the Therapeutic Recreation team via email at [email protected] or by calling 954-786-7841.
