Florida – The former Florida Republican Party chair, Christian Ziegler, and his wife, Bridget Ziegler, co-founder of Moms for Liberty and a known anti-LGBTQ activist, have been embroiled in a scandal involving their private sexual escapades. The police department’s report uncovered the couple’s practice of scouting for potential partners for threesomes at local bars, a detail that has thrown their public and private lives into controversy.

Christian Ziegler, whose career came to an abrupt end following national attention over a rape allegation by one of the couple’s sexual partners—an accusation he denied and which led to no charges being filed—had held a significant position in Florida’s political landscape. Despite the damaging claims and losing his influential role as the Florida GOP chairman, his wife Bridget has notably not stepped down from her roles on the Sarasota County School Board and the state board overseeing the Walt Disney World special district.

The police report, as cited by the Florida Trident, detailed how Christian Ziegler would frequent bars, covertly photograph women, and send these photos to Bridget for her approval. Text messages obtained by investigators reveal the extent of their coordination in these pursuits, with Bridget directing Christian to various locations and advising him on how to discreetly take photos. One particular exchange shockingly quoted Bridget instructing Christian not to return home until he was successful in their quest, using explicit language that underscored the secrecy and the explicit nature of their activities.

The controversy does not stop at their sexual endeavors. The Zieglers are currently engaged in a legal fight to prevent the public release of text messages and other records connected to the investigation, arguing that such disclosure would lead to “great humiliation and harm to their individual reputations.” They are pushing for the destruction of these records, which include contents from Christian’s cell phone, social media accounts, web browsing history, and even a video of the sexual encounter with the woman who made the rape allegation.

Bridget Ziegler’s Continued Advocacy Against LGBTQ Rights

Amidst the scandal and the legal turmoil, Bridget Ziegler has resumed her active role in pushing anti-LGBTQ measures. Recently, she spearheaded a resolution at a school board meeting to disregard federal Title IX protections for LGBTQ students. This resolution claims that the new rule could have “disastrous impacts to girls and women’s safety in restrooms, locker rooms, and sports,” despite the potential legal and financial repercussions it could bring upon the school district, including the loss of approximately $50 million in federal funds.

This case has not only exposed a personal scandal but also highlighted the contradictions between the Zieglers’ public advocacies and their private actions. The unfolding events continue to stir debates about personal conduct, public responsibility, and the broader implications of their actions on the political and educational climate in Florida. As the lawsuit and the controversies proceed, the spotlight remains firmly on how this case will evolve and the potential consequences for the Zieglers and the institutions they are part of.
