Free live music and outdoor films headline Tamarac’s packed spring calendar
Tamarac, Florida – Spring is arriving in full color across Tamarac, and with it comes a packed calendar of outdoor gatherings designed to bring neighbors together. The City’s Spring Series is rolling out a mix of live music, egg hunts, family movies and food truck favorites, offering something for every age group throughout March, April and early May.
The season begins Friday, March 6, with Groove on the Grass at Caporella Park, 5200 Prospect Road. From 7 to 9 p.m., attendees can enjoy a live outdoor concert by Zaya, known for standout performances on “American Idol.”
The evening also features lawn games, inflatable rides and a lineup of food trucks. Admission is free. While parking is not available on site, a complimentary shuttle will run continuously from Redeeming Word Christian Center, 2800 Prospect Road, between 5 and 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.
Family movie nights return as well. On Friday, March 20, “Lilo & Stitch 2” will light up the screen at Tamarac Park, 7501 N. University Dr. The series continues May 1 at Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St., with “Zootopia 2.” Activities and vendors open at 6:30 p.m., and each film begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Blankets, chairs and coolers are welcome, though pets are not permitted.
Egg hunt excitement anchors the series. A sensory-friendly egg hunt takes place March 28 at 9 a.m. on Baseball Field No. 1 at Tamarac Sports Complex. Designed to provide a calmer environment, the event requires advance registration and has limited capacity. Later that morning, Peter Cottontail’s Springfest begins at 10 a.m., offering age-group egg hunts for children 10 and under, face painting, food trucks, games and photo opportunities.
The splash continues April 4 with the Wet & Wild Egg Splash at Caporella Aquatic Center, 9300 NW 58th St. Starting at 10 a.m., the poolside event features water games, crafts and egg hunts. Admission is $5 per person, and registration is required.
Beyond seasonal highlights, Food Truck Fridays continue twice monthly at the Tamarac Village Amphitheater, giving residents even more chances to gather, dine and enjoy the outdoors this spring.
