Broward County, Florida – Hosting the 9th Annual Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FITCE), the Greater Fort Lauderdale | Broward County Convention Center will transform this week into a hive of global trade and culture. Accessible to the public via on-site registration available on Eventbrite, this free event scheduled for October 23–24, 2024 promises an interesting lineup of speakers, demonstrations, and exhibits.

Highlighting this year’s expo is Keynote Speaker Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the esteemed President and CEO of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Miami Host Committee. Lutoff-Perlo, well-known for her strong leadership and vast knowledge in tourism and external affairs, is scheduled to start the exhibition emphasizing the major economic impact of sports tourism—more specifically the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2026TM—on South Florida.

“President/CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo discusses the importance of tourism, particularly sports tourism and FIFA World Cup 2026™, and what it means to South Florida,” said Sandy-Michael E. McDonald, Director of OESBD.

The expo will also see an expanded lineup featuring a series of masterclasses and demonstrations designed to promote international cultural and economic exchanges. Notably, the Italian Delegation returns with its third Made in Italy pavilion, promising an immersive experience into Italian culture with classes on Lazio wines by renowned wine educator Luciano Castiello and a culinary presentation by Michelin-starred chef Marco Bottega, titled “Latium Dishes You Need to Try At Least Once.”

The behind-the-scenes tour of Port Everglades, a vital economic engine for Florida and one of the busiest cruise ports worldwide, is another main highlight of FITCE 2024. Since the tour’s spots have already been reserved, it emphasizes the great annual interest and involvement the fair creates.

“When you consider the potential of other such world-class events in our region, as well as our ability to attract other regions like Lazio, Italy to Broward County, or the world-class economic engine of Port Everglades, FITCE has something for anyone interested in commerce, culture, and international trade on a global scale,” McDonald added.
