Tamarac residents can drive up and receive free groceries at Waters Edge Park on Oct. 2

Tamarac, Florida – For Tamarac residents who could use a little help filling the pantry, Friday morning will bring a simple option: drive up, stay in the car and let volunteers handle the rest.

Commissioner Kicia Daniel is hosting a free drive-thru food distribution on Friday, Oct. 2, beginning at 9 a.m. at Waters Edge Park, 7508 NW 61st St. in Tamarac. Groceries will be available to community members while supplies last.

The event is designed to make food pickup as easy and direct as possible. Residents attending the distribution are asked to remain inside their vehicles when they arrive at the park. Volunteers will place the groceries into each vehicle, allowing the line to continue moving without participants needing to get out.

Food will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. Because the distribution will continue only while supplies remain available, residents planning to participate may want to arrive close to the 9 a.m. start time.

The community food drive is being promoted with a straightforward message: “No person goes hungry — no food goes to waste.” Organizers are encouraging residents to drive up, pick up groceries and take advantage of the free distribution.

Waters Edge Park is located at 7508 NW 61st St., Tamarac, FL 33321.

There is no need for residents to leave their vehicles during the pickup process. Volunteers will handle the loading of groceries once vehicles reach the distribution area.
