Tamarac residents get early say on plans to turn former clubhouse site into new community park
Tamarac, Florida – Tamarac residents who want a closer look at plans for a new community park on the city’s east side will have a chance to speak up before the proposal moves further into the approval process.
The City of Tamarac is inviting the public to a neighborhood meeting on Wednesday, September 16, focused on the proposed redevelopment of the former Shaker Village Clubhouse property into Tamarac Eastside Community Park. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is designed to give residents and other interested parties an early opportunity to ask questions and offer feedback.

The proposed park would be developed at 2 The Common, Tamarac, FL 33319, on property identified as Property ID No. 494111010170. The city is seeking a major site plan approval for the site as part of the effort to convert the former clubhouse property into a community park.
Before that application advances, Tamarac is holding the pre-application neighborhood meeting to hear directly from people who may have questions about the project or suggestions about what is being proposed.
Residents are encouraged to attend and share comments, concerns or ideas related to the future park. The meeting provides a formal setting for the public to learn more about the proposed development while the project is still in the pre-application stage.
The September 16 gathering will take place in the ballroom at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., Tamarac, FL 33351.
The city has framed the meeting around a simple question: “Have questions about the proposed Eastside Community Park?” For residents who do, Wednesday evening will provide an opportunity to raise them directly.
The discussion comes as Tamarac considers the future use of the former Shaker Village Clubhouse property and the steps required to transform the site into a public community park. Public comments and suggestions will be accepted during the neighborhood meeting as the proposed major site plan moves through the city’s development review process.
