Tamarac residents get first look at FY 2027 tax rate and budget during Monday, Sept. 14 hearing
Tamarac, Florida – Tamarac residents will get an early look at the financial decisions shaping the city’s next fiscal year when elected officials and city staff gather Monday evening for the first of two public budget hearings.
The September 14 meeting begins at 5:05 p.m. and marks a key step in setting Tamarac’s FY 2027 spending plan and property tax rate, with several important measures scheduled for consideration before the process moves toward final approval later this month.
The City of Tamarac is inviting residents to join the City Commission and staff at the City Hall Commission Chamber, 7525 NW 88th Ave. The hearing is open to the public.
During Monday’s meeting, the Commission is scheduled to adopt the FY 2027 final assessment resolutions. Commissioners will also consider adoption of a tentative millage rate and a tentative budget for FY 2027.
For residents who cannot attend in person, the hearing will also be broadcast through the City of Tamarac’s website and on Facebook Live, providing another way for the public to follow the discussion.
Monday’s hearing is only the first stage of the formal budget process. A second public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, also beginning at 5:05 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall.
That second meeting will move the process from tentative figures to final decisions. The Commission is expected to consider adoption of the FY 2027 final millage rate along with the FY 2027 Operating and Capital Budget.

The two hearings give residents separate opportunities to follow how the city approaches its upcoming financial year, from assessments and the proposed tax rate to operating expenses and capital spending.
With the first hearing set for September 14 and final budget action scheduled nine days later, Tamarac’s FY 2027 budget process will enter its decisive stage this month. Both meetings remain open to residents, whether they choose to attend at City Hall or watch the proceedings online.
