Veterans take center stage at Broward’s Boots and Beats celebration this November
Broward County, Florida – ParkFest: Boots and Beats for Our Brave will bring the community together on Sunday, November 9, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Tradewinds Park & Stables for an afternoon dedicated to celebrating and honoring military veterans. Visitors of all ages are welcome to come to this family-friendly event, which will include music, outdoor fun, and activities to honor those who have served. It costs $5 to park, but getting in is free.
The Parks Foundation of Broward County and the Parks Special Populations Section are putting on the event, which will feature live music by the local country band Whisky Six. There will be food trucks on site providing a variety of popular foods, and kids can have fun in the Kid Zone. The calm park environment and afternoon schedule are meant to make it easy for veterans, their families, and friends to get together and have fun.
There will also be a lot of activities for veterans at the event. People who come can play disc golf and fish, go to information and resource stations just for veterans, and see a touching pinning ceremony to honor those who have served. There are a lot of different things to do, so the day will be fun and give you time to think and be thankful.
Several community partners help make ParkFest happen. The City of Coconut Creek, Broward County Parks, and the Parks Foundation of Broward County are all sponsors.

The veterans part of the event is supported by groups like the South Florida Institute on Aging, Humana, Care Plus Health Plans, Fishing With America’s Finest, Memorial Healthcare System, United Way Broward, Mission United, Youth Environmental Alliance, Broward County Elderly & Veterans Services Division, and Broward County Special Populations Section.
